Jewelry Repair Workshop - Thursday, November 6, 6:30-8pm

$25.00

WORKSHOP ONE in my three-part “Recession-Core” workshop series this season, in which we don’t buy new and don’t spend much money! (Coming up: an earring swap December 2 and a recycled-materials earring workshop December 10).

Picture it: that drawer of broken jewelry, languishing and unused because we always tell ourselves we’ll get them fixed one day— but one day never comes, and it’s been two years since we’ve worn our favorite necklace. Sound familiar? If so, this jewelry repair workshop is for you!

I will provide basic jewelry supplies (jump rings, fish hooks, posts, pliers - various glues, resin) and teach you some simple techniques for fixing jewelry. Cold-repairs only - we won’t be soldering any metals here, folks! (though in a pinch, resin can work… I’ll teach you!). Missing one single jump ring, and don’t want to buy a pack of 100 to fix that one earring? Come on by! Need help prying off the post of an earring that half snapped off, and the right glue to adhere a new post? This is your chance!

PERFECT FOR: earrings that lost fishhooks, that necklace that lost its clasp, the bracelet that has a link missing, that rhinestone bead that came un-glued from an earring, that piece you don’t know what the heck it needs but need someone to tell you if it’s salvageable or not.

NOT FOR: soldering metals, beading/necklace-stringing (if you need these services, I’m always happy to point you in the right direction!).

I can’t promise we can fix everything you bring, but with some creativity and tools, we’ll do our best. I can also advise on how to fix anything not fix-able during the workshop, and even connect you with local jewelers who can help with your specific needs.
