EDITED FOR 2024 - This is one of my personal favorite pieces EVER. It has lived for the last two years as the main piece of art in my living room. It is a stunner. I can’t believe it hasn’t sold! I’d love it to find its forever home.

Inspired by the amulets placed in niches, inside homes and temples, throughout Thailand. I am drawn to this notion that each object you hold dear has its own small home, its little landing place, its niche.

Vessels represent identity to me— the way they, like people, can contain so many different things, some secret and some shown; the way the outside can mask what’s inside. There’s a certain level of hide-and-seek, of revealing and shielding.

Additionally, I’m a collector— I come from a family of collectors— and that love of objects and groups of objects runs deep in my veins. Arranging and combining objects elevates them, and we see it across cultures: Hindu altars, Passover seder plates, Muslim haft seen arrangements. Objects gain significance in numbers. I love the idea of “collecting” figments of my imagination, putting them all together on paper in neat rows.
